Jim, if you are correct then you have condemned every pizza maker who has ever made pies for a USDesmo event. As I recall there are always several Hawaiian style pizzas (with the dreaded PINEAPPLE) but, they are usually the first to disappear.
By the way, it did not come from the US island state of Hawaii as some may have thought. The pizza was actually created right here in Chatham Ontario Canada back in 1962 by a Greek immigrant by the name of Sam Panopoulos. Go ahead, look it up.
So to all the Americans who like it, you’re welcome. To all those who do not, stop your gripping and eat what you like instead of picking on what others like!

Although technically correct, it’s hard to contemplate the glorious tomato
as a fruit, but I stand corrected regarding my verbiage-would have been
more accurate for me to single out the pineapple. At the end of the day,
food is life (especially Neapolitan pizza), and one should live their best
life of enjoying whatever the heck they want. Put pineapple on your pizza
if you wish. Just not on pizzas going into my pizza oven. And always use
Castrol extra virgin oil on your pizza.

Yes but has to be coupled with ham or bacon. I'll quiz my wife's Italian
family at the next gathering. :)
