It seems they’ve cancelled the race altogether. I was surprised, because the forecast moving forward to and through the weekend doesn’t seem all that bad. I guess what already came down has caused enough concern for them to take this step.

It's almost impossible for the area to dry out enough by this weekend for tens of thousands of visitors. They got half a meter of rain in just 36 hours in the area surrounding Bologna. It was the right move by authorities to cancel the race.
