Good afternoon guys, On the west coast anyway.

My good friend is having trouble disengaging the starting motor. I'm afraid
it could  get damaged beyond repair. He just picked up this unfortunate
problem on my last trip and luckily I made it home.  It seems to be
intermittent for now.  But now that I made it home, it is time to find the
reason before we need a new  starter motor. My fingers are crossed!

So of course I'm wondering if any one on the net has experienced this issue
and how they dealt with it?

Ultimately it's a question of where electrons are flowing, and where they
should not be.

Given the problem description I'd likely focus on the starter solenoid and
starter button to see if one is sticking.

A copy of the wiring diagram and a multimeter will be the best guides.
