I still lurk here, too.  Also on Bevelheads.  Like Jim, in Atlanta, we
have shut down our WildDucs Ducati Club.  The founder had a stroke last
year, and our rides and dinners were getting progressively less-attended.
Some members have aged out, and several members have other bikes, now -
lots of BMW's, Triumphs, etc.  Several of us connect through text chat
groups and meetups at a local coffee shop (Pop's in Roswell) to ride.

I resisted FB for a while, but it really is an invaluable asset for info on
the various brands I have had.  Have gotten all sorts of good info on
Aprilias, Ducatis and Triumphs over the years, and sold both bikes and cars
on it. There is a lot of uninformed bullshit, but you can see through it
pretty quick and sort out the valuable stuff....

Still have a custom Duc single, a Desert X, a Triumph Scrambler 1200XE, and
a Husky 690 SMCR for the occasional track day.  As long as I can ride, I
will....

Well, as long as we are updating… I sold my MV 675 F3 after 10 years of
MV screwing up in Canada. Linda, as many of you know, sold her beloved Max

for a few years but then sold it to I think a couple in Texas.

We bought a one owner 1993 Caterham Super 7 HPC EVO with just 18k from
new last Feb. We put over 2600 miles on it doing weekend shows and at least
one Cruise Night a week. We had a blast! This year on May 4th the force
was not with us. Our first weekend out for 2025 and not a mile from our
home a local cuts the corner turning left and drives right into us while
we’re sitting at the Stop sign. The car is still not fixed but that’s
another story.

Linda was healing up from her heart attack just before Christmas of 2024,
(which left her with a heart that is at less than 80% of what it should be)
when two Monday’s ago she was robbed in a parking lot. There is so much
violence in the world today she is lucky the guy just grabbed her ring and
ran.

Oh and I’m spouting new hardware as I got myself a pacemaker.

Still have our 1998 900 SS FE but it too will be up for sale once I get
the car sorted.

Hope everyone else is doing better. I keep up with Ducati news, follow
the USDesmo Facebook page and have two years of GP action to watch.

Email groups are a dying breed.  I am still here but your post is the
first I have seen in quite a while.  I have closed the US DESMO club
officially but we still ride together.  We still have our four rallies but
no food, door prizes and of course T shirts.  The website is gone band
rally attendance is down a little but we still get between 20 and 40 riders
showing up.  I still own two Ducati: a 2018 Scrambler Cafe Racer and a 2023
Monster SP.

Tom,

I use Facebook a lot but because of all the years of the club, 30 both
official and not official, I have extensive email addresses.  I have
created group email for local rides and events and a big one for what we
now call non rallies.  I like it better because I no longer have to collect
money and pay bills.  My job is to show up and ride.

I am glad to still be around.  Second time with stage four cancer so who
knows how much longer.
