Anybody seeing what’s happening in Italy right now? The F1 race is at Imola this weekend and it’s raining so much they evacuated people from the track a few hours ago. Here’s a video, it’s a river.@Motorsport The circuit has just been evacuated

They are apparently under some sort of severe weather warning that included mudslides, floods, winds and rain.

It seems they’ve cancelled the race altogether. I was surprised, because
the forecast moving forward to and through the weekend doesn’t seem all
that bad. I guess what already came down has caused enough concern for them
to take this step.

It's almost impossible for the area to dry out enough by this weekend for
tens of thousands of visitors. They got half a meter of rain in just 36
hours in the area surrounding Bologna. It was the right move by authorities
to cancel the race.

I doubt they can get the track fixed, floodwater is toxic and Imola got hit hard. The whole region situation is really serious, this is from a local paper I subscribe to:

Some 3,000 people had been evacuated from their homes in Bologna, while the mayor of Ravenna said some 5,000 people were being evacuated as a precaution.

All rivers in the region had broken their banks between Tuesday and Wednesday, with 36 local authorities reported flooding and 48 reporting landslides.

………….

My friends there have been sending me videos and one of them was a guy on a bicycle riding thru what was likely a road but looked like a river and a big fish was swimming by him.
They got half a years rainfall in a day and the rain is predicted to come daily thru May 31.

So far Ducati is dry and so is most of the Bologna city center. Bologna is built over a river so this could change quickly.
