15 years old and having a good ole time on the local fire roads in the San Bernardino Mountains. Of course we went around all the gates that tried to keep you off of these roads. Hauling butt around a blind curve I run onto ( almost literally ) a Forestry Truck. Now were in trouble and we decided to outrun the Forestry truck. Got home 45 min later and was feeling all right that we got away when, up the street came the Forestry truck. Were thinking,How the hell did he find us and what kind of trouble we were in. Turns out that the officer was another buddies father. and he knew who we were. Man did we ever catch an a$$ chewing. He said he wished he had a camera when he came down our street and saw our shocked faces.

My first bike was an 82 YZ80 (the first year of liquid cooling with the radiator in the front above the fender) and I would ride to the gas station to fill up. Normally I would put the premix in an empty Dr. Pepper can with enough for 1 gallon. Well one day I needed gas but there were no Dr. Pepper cans around. But as luck would have it there was a Red, White, and Blue (Budweiser) can available. Well upon my arrival at the gas station I went in to pay for a gallon of gas and preceded to get an a$$ chewing by the lady behind the counter. She was already calling the cops before I had the chance to explain. As I was explaining to her the local CHP is pulling up. I go outside and the lady is behind me all in a huff. Luckily the CHP was my little league coach and friends dad. Needless to say he got a chuckle as I poured the beer (premix) into my tank :)> > Rino> > > From: sftompkins at sbcglobal.net> To: ducati at ducati.net> Subject: Re: [Ducati] My "run in with the law" story> Date: Tue, 13 May 2008 10:01:22 -0700> > Although I've been stopped on the street (too) many times riding a m/c, none > of my police encounters are eventful enough to re-tell.
