[Ducati] My "run in with the law" story

Although I've been stopped on the street (too) many times riding a m/c, none
of my police encounters are eventful enough to re-tell. However, I do
recall getting stopped by an officer as a 10 year old.
My house was about 5 blocks from the nearest field (providing access to
miles and miles of trails, etc) where I'd ride after school and on
weekends. So I had to push my Mini Trail 50 (then Yamaha enduro 80, then
enduro 100) along the sidewalk before I could start it up and take off.
Well, despite my folks trust in me, this got too tiring sometimes and I
would occasionally start riding after only a few blocks. One day I heard a
siren behind me and a cop pulls up, not too impressed, and gives me a
dressing down. I was young and respectful of authority at the time, and
almost wet my pants thinking I was in really big trouble. He took down my
info and sent me home. He called my folks and I nearly got the bike taken
away from me. I vowed to just keep going next time I heard a siren!
