[Ducati] 120/60 or 120/70 Front on 900SS FE?

120/70 is definitely the way to go.  My very first tire change on my
900SS/FE I went to a 120/60 on the front and 160/60 on the rear, using the
sizes published in a Motorcyclist article as the stock sizes.  I also
switched to MEZ-4's (sport touring) at that time, and hated it.  At first I
thought it was the Z-4's that were so terrible.  My bike went from easy to
manage in corners to a bear -- wanting to push the front end even at slow
speeds.

I went from the Z-4's to Bridgestone hypersports (I think they were
BT-010's) and back to 120/70 in the front and 170/60 in the rear.  My old
bike came back and I ran Bridgestones for years after that.  I also
eventually went up to 180/55 in the rear and liked it a lot.
