[Ducati] Battery maintenance for 748

I had to travel fairly frequently and just a few weeks ago acquired a  
748S.  I'd like to install some kind of battery maintenance device or  
hookup that I can easily plug into when I know I'm not going to be  
able to light the bike for an extended period.  Right now I have the  
fairing off the side to use the big trickle charger/start assist thing  
that I keep in the garage but I'd like to avoid having to remove the  
fairing to put it on a trickle charger.  I have a smaller device that  
I use on my 911, but it's still probably too big to permanently mount  
on the 748.  Any suggestions?
