I don't know how many others on the list have experienced this, but speaking
for myself, there have been a few times over the years when I have posted
some comment or question that I happened to think was interesting, or full
of wit, thinking, "Well, THIS sure will have a bunch of responses from some
of the listers", only to be deafened by the roar of the silence of any
comment whatsoever. Apologies to the ladies on the list for this particular
reference, but it can be a bit of a p*nis shrinking experience. So it is
with the greatest of satisfaction that I witness one of the biggest and
(can't find the right word. . . ) "something" responses to my post that I
have seen on the list. It was neat to see that it brought out some folk who
I have never seen post before. Even thought there are other lists I'm sure I
would find interesting, this Duc thing is the only one that I monitor or
participate in. I continue to enjoy it as a special little part of my life
that I look forward to each day. It is so much fun to see the banter of
people with a common passion.
