[Ducati] RE: Longest, first, again

1976: just split with my wife, sold my Lotus Elan and needed an adventure. A 
friend showed up with a '75 GT380 and let me ride it. I was 30 yrs. old. Ran 
out and bought a '75 GT250. By '78 I had taken my first X/C trip on a '77 
GS750, actually a modified perimeter of the US of 10,000 mi., including a 
1,300 mi./25 hr. "day." Graduated to a '82 R100RS that I owned for 16 yrs. 
and since then a series of Ducs including my '02 998, now stabled with a '04 
TRiumph Sprint RS. This June's plan is to celebrate my 62nd birthday with a 
solo, 1,000 mi. day on the 998.
