Started riding (underage) 1958, got legal and a Lambretta in 1961  
which I swapped for my first real bike in 1962.  It was a 1949 sprung  
hub Triumph Thunderbird.  The worst part is that there was a Vincent  
Black Prince at the shop, at an asking price of 140 Pounds, which was  
about 10 times average weekly wage at the time, out of  
reach...Saddest words in the world, "if only"
