Jim,
That sounds like a very sensible recommendation. I'll have the O2
checked, and will also give the other starting techniques a try. Do you
think it is possible that the engine responds to fast idle differently
now with the lower back pressure of the performance exhaust?

If you do not have an O2 sensor and I am pretty sure you do not then you
might take it to your dealer and ask them to run it on the exhaust gas
analyzer and set the computer for the new items installed. My 999 was
very
lean and I did just about everything you did. They only charged me for
about 3.4 of an hour so it was under $100 for the peace of mind it gave
me.
