Hi Garth,

            used to own an ally welding shop and got heaps of repairs like yours. Suggest if grooves are deep get ally welder to grind off anodising around the grooves and tig it up and he will then grind back to give you the origional finish back. orbi it (orbital sander) and take to powder coater for any colour finish. If the guys are any good , should be perfect finish. Note : you CANNOT weld directly over anodise, must be ground off.
