750 is a small stud spacing engine - same as all pantah, 600, 620, 695, 750 and 800.

900 is a 4v stud spacing (pre 996) engine - same as 748, 851, 888, 916 and ST2.

the gearbox shafts are a lttle further apart on the bigger engines too - you can't fit a big engine gearset into a small engine. the crank to input shaft and crank to timing shaft distance is the same tho.

later small cases are stronger, but early ones are not as strong as 900 style. altho the later 900 or 4v style cases the better. 1999 or 2000 or so onwards are much stronger in many places where the 955 race era cases would crack.

2 phase alt 750, etc cranks are narrower than 900, etc cranks, excepting '88 851 and up to '91 900SS. all later cranks are the same width, altho 750, etc have smaller big ends. rods are same length as 4v, but not as strong.

anything else you need to know?
