[Ducati] RE: Ducati ST3 Newbie

I recently joined your mailing list and just wanted to see if this worked.
I've noticed lots of valuable information and everyone seems pretty familiar
with the Marque. I've been riding since I was twelve (I'm 69 now!) and I've
never had a bike I like as well as my Ducati. I should have bought one
years ago.

For those of you with dvr/tivo equipment, take note that speed has elected
to change how they "tag" the motogp broadcast on Sunday. Whether this is a
one time thing or not, I don't know, but you will not record the event if
your box is set to pick up the normal "motorcycle racing" tag. It is
actually called "motogp racing" on the speed schedule. So reset your friend
to record accordingly. 250's at 2:00, 800's at 3:00

Good looking out Steve - thank you. Indeed my Tivo didn't pick up
either because they didn't even mention the word "motorcycle" in them.
Speed is going to get a rash of complaints on this one!

I do not have a sport classic so I could be wrong but I thought they already

have quick disconnect fittings on the tank. I know when I was removing my
999 tank for the first time I was having trouble seeing how the fittings
worked and the service manager took me out to a sport classic to show me.

I'll go out and take a closer look but I had the tank raised and supported
with a 2x4 the other day and I didn't see one. My 916 has two up at bootom
of
tank that I disconnect, the fuel hose on the Sport Classic is thick walled

Wally

They are fittings that are black unlike the white ones on the 916. They are

tight against the tank and the releases are silver colored metal parts. The

bottom of the tank is recessed and they are hard to see on the 999.

I have a friend who called me . He has just pulled the horizontal cylinder
to change the valve stem seals.

He found an extra approx. 3mm. black o-ring on the cylinder along with the
two oil galley o-rings.

Anyone run into this before? I know the vert. cyl. Uses 3 o-rings.

Thanks T

Thanks Mark for your well thought out and detailed post. At the risk of
sounding like a broken record, everybody involved with the 5 day IndyGP
Project Mugello package is committed to making it first rate. The Putnam
track day is no exception. MotoEuro magazine has signed on as a sponsor,
Ducati Indy is lending full support, the Ducati area rep is attending ,
Sport Bike Track Time always puts on a first rate event and I am racking my
brain for ways to raise this to a festival sort of day. We want people that

don't do track days to be involved in this one, even if they just come out
and do some Ducati demo rides, or do some laps behind a control rider to get

the feel for the track. Because it's on the tail end of the GP weekend I can

request for the GP riders to attend, it's within the request guidelines for
the DOC clubs. (it would be a complete miracle but it could happen, anybody
that knows me knows I dream in color). So bottom line is, sign up or run
the risk of having to listen to what a great day you missed. :-)

Just signed up for the Track day! I don't know for sure if it is neccessary,
but I purchased the STT Membership for an extra $35. Even if I didn't have
to, it doesn't hurt to help those helping us. Plus, you get a T-shirt and
some coupons. Bummer I didn't see any trackdays put on by them here in
Texas.
  Can't wait.
