Correct in that there should only be two o-rings between the head and
barrel on the H cylinder if it's a pre-98 SS. Have not had the FE apart
to see if another o-ring is needed with the elimination of the external
oil lines but I'm thinking not.

A few scenarios come to mind. There is an o-ring between the barrel and
cases if he's pulled the barrels all the way off. Not likely I know.
Another is that a PO may have doubled up on an o-ring to cure a leak.
There are also smaller o-rings that are used to attach the triangular
plate that the external oil line bolts into.

No specific need for concern as long as new ones have been sourced and
replaced.

I have a friend who called me . He has just pulled the horizontal
cylinder
to change the valve stem seals.

He found an extra approx. 3mm. black o-ring on the cylinder along with
the
two oil galley o-rings.

Anyone run into this before? I know the vert. cyl. Uses 3 o-rings.

Thanks T
