[Ducati] 'Flushing' the clutch??

I suspect  what they meant is what Bob describes below and I agree do not 
ask why it happens. :-)

One other thing they could have meant is that when you use the clutch there 
is a certain amount of debris that collects behind the clutch cover.  I make 
it a practice to clean that out with brake cleaner every year or so.  I pull 
in the clutch lever and hold it back with something and then go and with the 
cover off spray the plates with cleaner.  Have a catch pan as it will be 
very dirty.  I make sure I am using a cleaner that does not tear up paint. 
Or at least now I do. :-(
