[Ducati] my speedtv rant

I have subscribed myself since 2004-high def the last 2 seasons. My personal
cup of racing that I generally brew goes like this. I did finally buy a nice
screen this year (50" 1080i plasma), so I try and watch the race as soon as
is practical (dvr). It's usually that night, if not the next night. It is
tough to stay away from results if you populate any lists like this, so I
try and watch it quickly. Enjoy it on the big screen for initial viewing,
forwarding thru commercials. Then, at my leisure, enjoy the perks of the
motogp site. I certainly try not to log onto the site before I have watched
it on TV- tough to avoid the info. I can have my kids log on and forward to
the screen I want. Actually, last year I ran Calabogie for the first time.
It was a gp weekend, so since we had wireless in the hotel room, I brought
my 17" laptop to watch the races after the track day. Challenge was just as
you said- how to get on without spoiling the result. So we're at dinner in
the hotel restaurant after the day of riding, trying to figure out how to do
this. Couple of beers later, I got it! Ask the hot 21 ish Canadian waitress
to help. After she got by the initial facial contortions thinking things
like, "What are these old guys trying to pull here", she agreed to help out.
I ran up to the room, brought down the Dell, and of course, she's a typical
21 year old computer savvy gal, and just breezes through the process for us.
We tell her, "When the home screen opens up DON'T SAY ANYTHING ABOUT THE
COLOR OR ANYTHING ELSE ABOUT THE GUY MOST PROMINENTLY DISPLAYED ON THE
SCREEN! Anyway, it was another of those countless fine memories that are
associated with our track days. Especially when it's one or more of a couple
of tracks in Canada, because then it's and INTERNATIONAL track day.
Waitress got a great tip.

It's been said before, but - five words: moto gee pee dot com
Pre-race, post-race, and every lap of all three races. Not to mention
practice, qualifying, interviews, etc.
I have been a subscriber since 2003. Yes, once or twice a season I do have
trouble logging in to watch live coverage. That seems to happen more often
when I'm on a road trip somewhere, using a motel's wireless network, so it
might not always be Dorna's fault. Anyway, that just means it's time to get
back on the bike and watch the race later. When you don't catch it live, it
just requires a little creativity to log in later without seeing the race
results on the web page. :-)
