[Ducati] 999 Timing Belt service?

Besides all the points already mentioned, another reason to look at it is just to check things, never hurts to lay your eyes on belts, pulleys, timing. Might be a good time to actually have cams degreed though that will add a bit to the labor costs as well as require offset keys. Age is also the enemy of most rubber goods so it is not just a question of miles and temp but age. Since you do not know all of the history of this bike it is good insurance that all is well if you have a good mechanic at that dealership. Make sure they check all the fasteners behind overs, older bikes the one stud nut had a habit of loosening ans if it falls into belt...not sure about 999 but those back cambelt covers likely held on with stud and nut as well on 999. It was rare but still the consequences of that sort of failure or belt failure is pretty huge....so worth the time and expense to make sure it is right. Rich
