Wow. Looks like the group woke up from writers strike. I thought I was watching some re-runs of CSI internet. I am working with a young man now who may turn the motorcycle world on its head when he hits the scene. He has been watching MotoGP and WSK from a very young age and knows the names and numbers of riders before he starting learning the Presidents of United States. He knows all the tracks on the MotoGP schedule like the back of his hand. He has even beat riders like Rossi, Capirossi, Edwards and Hayden to name a few. I think he will represent America well on the MotoGP scene. With the AMA Red Bull Rookies Cup in place, will be a perfect platform for his future development. Maybe from there he can go racing in Europe in their Rookies Cup or go to 125 and 250 series. Maybe under this new management will bring back the 125 and 250 class to the American scene as a main race in AMA again.
The next couple of years will be exciting to watch from WSK and MotoGP. There will be some new manufacturers coming into the scene. KTM will be in WSK in couple of years and BMW will be in WSK or MotoGP. So maybe we will see some American blood line on the new bikes in the series. It would be nice to see some similar exposure of manufacturers here in the AMA. Not having a Suzuki fest. To bring back the glory days of old when racing was racing with all manufacturers involved.
I had a brief opportunity to work with a local kid who was racing in the MotoGP Red Bull Rookies Cup. I helped in trying to get some local exposure and sponsorship for him to travel back and forth to Europe. It was fun while it lasted. I even had a opportunity to talk with Kevin Schwantz at Road Atlanta who did meet the young man at a race in Assen that he podium. He presented his trophy. I even was considering how I could start my own racing team. I talked with Jordan's manager for the AMA team about the business and how tough it was. With a name like Jordan behind the team was a struggle to keep the team together and winning races.
I think our future presence in the WSK or MotoGp will be names like Herrin , R. Hayden or Spies.
Does anyone have a link to the BSB or WSBK racing series that has the KTM bike racing in it? I wish there was a channel or package deal you could buy that has two-wheel racing from all over the world for all the different classes. I am a member of the motoGP.com and enjoy watching it but I would prefer to watch it on my 50" or 110" screen in HD and not on my 15" computer monitor in a little box. If I enlarge the screen then the picture is not as clear. Has anybody heard anything else on the guy who was pushing for a two-wheel only channel?
