[Ducati] Ducati Delivery Delays

I guess when you presell so many high priced motorcycles, it is a bit of
a double edged sword. With the meltdown of the US currency, Ducati is
probably feeling some sting from each high end motorcycle they sold at a
fixed price months or even a year or more ago. I have been told that
they are missing multiple delivery dates in the US (like mine but also
many others).

Unfortunately, now the theories and rumors are starting that Ducati is
delivering to the countries with better currency exchange rates than the
US, playing a bet that the exchange rate for the dollar will improve. I
don't necessarily buy it, but 'some' US dealers are feeling frustration
that they are not getting the bikes they are holding deposits and/or
orders placed on Ducatis that are significantly overdue for delivery.

I figure it is just demand outstripping Ducati's ability to produce, and
there overestimates for production quotas of a motorcycle as demanding
to produce as the Desmosedici or 1098 R's.

I can wait. As long as the end of the tunnel reveals itself.
