[Ducati] '96 900SS Carb Question

I certainly cannot say for all examples but I had a test roll on with two
other friends all with 900 SS of about the same vintage. Here is what we
found. Starting at about 4 K my bike with stock carbs would open up about
three bike lengths on the bike with the flat slides, the bike with flat
slides and a 944 kit would do the same to me. Once the flat slide only bike
got around 6K he would stop loosing ground to me but could not over take.
The 944 bike kept pulling away but at a reduced rate.

My theory is that the CV carb can regulate air flow much better and maximize
power over the rmp range. I think both owners with the flat slides opened
them up too much and the bike just did not deliver the power it is capable
of. I have found this with my F1B and can feel acceleration pick up when I
roll back out of the throttle a little. Gradual opening of the throttle
gives better results.
