  First, as I said in my post, from the facts stated in the article, I don't believe this was self defense, nor do I think a judge/jury will believe it was. This was a horrible incident and I believe the father will face the consequences of his actions.
   
  Let me say, I realize this is not the proper forum for gun rights issues but I am positive the NRA will not be all over this as you say. The courts actually make it very dificult for a citizen to make the decision to defend him or herself with a firearm.
   
  Also, I do not see how this is anything like a halloween costume involving a gun? And Mough was not on the father's property, he was in the street. Apples do not equal oranges.
