My darling partner, who merrily flies up hills on her 70s Motobecane
pushbike (we just got a new old one to replace the previous old one she wore
out), has only been on the back of the SP once: about 8 miles up and back
Redwood Rd, about as slow as I could go. She didn't like it. No worrys here
about dragging her along on some long cross-country trip. Solo seat will be
just fine. She has suggested parallel road trips, my on the Ducati, and her
on the Motobecane, but I couldn't handle the humiliation of calling her on
the cell phone and asking her to wait while I try and fix the bike.
