[Ducati] 97 - 748 rotor nut

Brad thanks for the 6th gear  tip.  I should have known that but I guess I 
just was not thinking.  That said the 270Nm torque spec was changed from the 
factory spec, of 180Nm  in the early 90's for the 97 748's due to the 
plethora of rotors that had flown off the crank into the stator, mine 
included..  What a mess that made at speed.

using first gear multiplies the torque you're putting on the crank, which 
will easily over power the rear brake.  270nm on the crank is probably 
nearly 4 times what your engine puts out, so there's a lot of load on 
everything through the system.  if you want to use the rear wheel use 6th. 
that drops the torque at the rear wheel as much as possible.

if it's a '97 then it should have a 2 phase alternator - small rotor on the 
crank (70mm or so od), not a big magnet dish.  the torque on them is only 
180Nm.
