I have owned three VFR's and they are great bikes which do it all.
I started riding them because #1) I worked in a Honda shop,#2) the torque
was sooo much better than the inline bikes. Well the plot thickens when a kid brings in
a 93 888spo, and wants a VFR. After taking out the 888 for a few minutes my eyes
were opened. That's torque! Believe it or not I traded pinks, and rode ducati exclusively for 12 years.
I think the ST4s was one of the best bikes I have ever toured on. Fast, the wife loved the seat (off the new st3)
and hard bag rock!. Unfortunately she tossed a piston through the cases at 20k. I feel that was a fluke as
we had another bike do the same thing at 5k due to a manufacturing error.(oil journals weren't cleaned and became clogged).
As Johnny cool factory rider once said," the VFR is a great bike it just lacks SOUL.
