I've only ridden an older VFR 750 briefly. It was a very nice bike and no doubt a good practicle choice. I traded off with a guy who's then one year old VFR was 7 years newer than my 907. The VFR was faster, would lift the front wheel more easily, was smoother, and more stable feeling. When I got off his bike I asked myself if I would be willing to trade straight across for my older 907. No. Not interested. The 907 was so much more entertaining. The torque, the sound, the feel, the steering. The thing I have always liked about the 907 is that it looks like it's all dressed up for a night at the opera but it snarls like some crazed jungle beast that wants to rip your lungs out.
