Thank you one and all for the battery advise. I think when all is said and
done, the 900 has been done with track duty for 5 years now, so weight is
not as much of an issue as it might be. When we start going for Marchesini's
and such, then we'll start thinking about the light battery. So I think
we'll go for reliable instead of light. BTW, the 900 is a wonderful
starter-first piston cranking over TDC, and BOOM- wonderful noise.
I see this thread morphing from battery through Dunlops, and now, the
ever-present scotch subject is inexorably making its way into the
conversation. (Make sure we stay current on the subject line....)
And although a bottle of Patron, Cabot, or Don Julio is always the headliner
in my liquor cabinet, I do have a bottle of Strathisla that is a fine
scotch.
Steve
also check SWmototire.com I think it is for prices, may be about the same or
better.
Meanwhile, making your own cables/ whether electrical or clutch cables and
the like, it is usually a far better idea than paying top prices for medium
quality. Have not bought a cable in a long time and many of my older bikes
use cable controls as well as batrery wires.
In the meantime, just waiting for someone to send that bottle of Glen Livet
to Hopper, so he can bring it up for the Feb 1 ride for us all to enjoy.
