Oh, a music teacher.....
well remenber that the tolerances you seek are not within the inch but
within a much closer level. If you are out by .030" or moe, you are
basically just out. Pick the indicator that suits your need;.
By the way, through2000,I had a machine shop that mostly worked with
aerospace and computer industies along with statistcal research, with many
publications if you care to research. But the real point is that although I
sold most of the best equipement, I retained my CNC retrofit Bridgeport mill
and a suitable lathe. Most of my inpsection equiptment is B & s, but
anything that is good works for me. So I do have some japanese stuff, but no
china stuff except for rough work. However if I might say, even the crap
level from china (lead issues aside) are probably better than the best stuff
of 20 years ago. Why? simply because machine tech is so much better.
Materials? hey if you think a knife from Japan or China is as good as a
Gerber (or other quality brand) think again as you sharpen it everyime you
need to cut smoethihng as challenging as a chunkd of ( your choice, paper,
roast, cardboard, meat, whatever)
Quality? hey it is where you find it, and if you can;'t do it yourself,
don't expect othesrs to do it withoup paying the premium. But of course,
once you learn to do it, and can afford the time, then you beat the system,
in at least one sense.
best of all of coure is to make so much more that the required work amoount
that you actually save money doing it yourself. With Ducati, that may not be
possible,m but with HK, it is a possibility,
Peter
