Brez,

The original email just bother me so I responded with my opinion. For
this I have been attacked both on and off list (I should share with the
list the rambling wacko manifesto I got this morning, but no more fuel
for this fire will come from me). I guess I'm pathetic for having the
opinion that people should not generalize about other groups of people
based on what they choose to ride. In this case we are faulting people
via the same actions we take ourselves.

I enjoy the bantering as well and even own the tongue in cheek "Loud
Clutches" t-shirt. The difference is intent.
As many of the responses have shown, this is not always a friendly
ribbing situation. There is REAL animosity.

I categorized the whole concept as pathetic. This word alone has pushed
a few of your buttons for some strange reason as evidenced in your use
of it in your responses. I now regret using the word because it seems to
prevent some of you from understanding my point.

You would think I was advocating baby killing or something...

I am not irate, just frustrated that I can't get a decent debate on this
list.

Just personal attacks.

As far as a sense of humor..I'll laugh when someone says something funny.

Clearly I made a mistake by labeling it as Anti Harley, it can be applied to the whole Loud Pipes Save Lives thing. For a while I thought about adding fuel to this argument and prolonging this thread. But to me it is ridiculous how fired up people can get over a joke. My riding group consists virtually of sportbike riders but I have many friends that ride other types/brands. Not only do we all get along, but we enjoy the bantering. Why can't we just celebrate our differences instead to ignoring them in hopes they go away? I guess some of us are more progressive than others, we have to keep in mind that society caters to the least common denominator (argue that point as you are trying to peal all those safety stickers off your new bike).

This is a joke on a t-shirt mocking an unfounded belief that Loud Pipes Save Lives. Life is way too short, and we only have a small portion of it to spend riding. Chill out get a sense of humor, and find a friend to enjoy it with!!!
