I know for a fact the fuel pump on my 95 sp runs as long as the key is on. Rode to Big Bear one time and ran into a guy with a Harley who was out of gas. Lifted my tank, removed hose to carbs and attaches a piece of hose from battery breather and turned on the key. Gave the guy enough gas to get up the hill. I guess looking back on the whole thing, I could of told the guy "You need a push to get back down the hill?"
