BMC Filters that mount to inside airbox where the intake runners mount I think is nicest setup. I have had issues with over the TB filters esp with the newer shower injectors, how about ocasiobal backfires that singe the filter and melt the fuel lines. I do not think hiding all or any of that under a filter a good idea. It could have been ugly in the extreme So I went with BMCs kit, a little more expnsive, filters are like small pie shaped K&N filters, nothing occupies any volume under tank in airbox. And all the fuel lines etc are visible and nothing to catch fire. I actually had a JHP filter get singed by a backfire. If it did not have a bit of oil on it I think it might have caught fire, it tried to burn. Before shower injectors were common the ITG, JHP etc versions over the TBs were the only game in town, but you did not have plastic fuel lines under there either. Rich

I bought a used 998s last fall which came with c/ air runners.
No air filters, and I have yet to look under the tank (It's in storage).
Any recommendations?
I'm thinking about ITG in the air box which Bruce Meyers recommends.
The bike has Ducati performance cams and a Termi half system. Would the air
filter change the air/fuel mixture so much as to require remapping?
I'm really way over my head on this stuff.
The bike runs and sounds great, but I do think some good air filtration
would be essential.
