Whatcha mean by that BMW remark I resemble that remark. After 25 plus years of riding I finally went to the dark side, with an R1150GSA against Arch and Wegs recommendations. Still it makes a great tourer, just not so sure about GS. I was pissed when the Yamaha franchise wanted a deposit for a site unseen FJR so decided to at least give BMW a chance. An acquired taste still, have to keep the local dealers off balance, first they thought I was a Honda guy, then they thought I was a Ducati guy...course I started out on a Suzuki GT380, then have had a bunch of RDs and RZs so not usre that if it has two wheels and I can get my hands on the keys I will ride about anything but esp all of my wifes grey market 250s. you are experiencing. It is important to get a joy to ride but will not
overwhelm you as you learn. You have plenty of time to move on to something
else if you like. You can just keep the R80RT as it will be a fun and
trusty steed.
Congratulations to the wonderful world of biking and being outside and being
part of the trip instead of being in a cage. Have fun and by all means stay
safe.
