That totally sucks. My own spawn did the same things to me. My knucklehead
son was blowing our property and didn't shut the garage door. Probably not
as bad as yours, but caused a commotion all the same.

Hey Hopper, that's very similar to what I do. I don't individually do the
inside link, outside link, roller but I spray 4 or 5 links, wipe inside and
outside and rollers then the next 4 or 5 and so on. Then I spin the chain
with the tire and wipe and clean the chain as it runs through the rag until
it's nice and shiny everywhere. Basically the lube is the cleaner. I've
just switched to a wax lube and like it. In the old days I would often just
use 90 weight gear oil and that worked pretty well also. Never been tempted
to use anything in the solvent category.
On Friday, after having just cleaned the chain I was parked at work and I
heard one of those damned leaf blowers outside. Cleaning the parking
lot?!?!?! Too late, I went outside to find my chain, swingarm and wheels
covered with grit and the whole bike covered with dust. Crap! Man, I hate
those things.
