[Ducati] Demo Ride experience of 848 (1098?)

Any opinions anyone?


I haven't ridden them, but I have looked the bikes over in the showroom 
sitting side by side. I have also compared the specs. The bikes are, for all 
intent and purpose, identical. My go big or stay at home philosophy will not 
allow me to go with the 848. So far as getting into "trouble" with the 
power, I can't see that either. You can use too much power, but you can't 
have too much. We're not talking Godzilla here. Most of the dyno runs I've 
seen show only about 140 HP at the wheel for a 1098S. Take a look at the 
Moto-one site's dyno runs and write ups.



If $$$ is not a problem, I'd say go with the 1098S.



FWIW, I ride a kitted S4RS (420# wet) that puts out about the same power at 
the wheel as the 848 does at the crank and I'd love to have the extra power.
