I'm kind of surprised this hasn't come up sooner. I'm not completely
convinced that the 1098R isn't a heads up suiter for the DesRR. The 1098R is the
closest thing to what the factory is "racing that day" they have offered to
the public since the TT1's and 2's back in the day. You can't take anything
away from the GP replica (which is more like a 2006 actual GP machine as opposed
to the traditional carbon and sticker kit) by saying the 1098R (which is
literally a WSBK starter bike, it doesn't even share a frame with the 1098) is
close in performance either. Just having access to them both is kind of
incredible. Time will tell but I think it's going to be interesting to have two
bikes that cutting edge in our "playgroup".
Either way, man is this a great time to be a Ducatisti!
