Way to go Vicki!  Thanks for bringing this subject up.  It is a topic I feel 
strongly about.  Strong enough to get off my lazy butt and write my congress 
person for the first time.

Unfortunately, I tend to hurt myself from time to time, and it scares me 
that riders are vulnerable to having  medical insurance claims denied while 
engaged in a legal recreational activity.  I hope some of the rest of you 
feel the same way and voice your opinion.

This is a link to an AMA "AMA Rapid Response Center" page that lets you 
email or snail mail your representative to get them to correct rules that 
allow an employer or insurance company to exclude coverage for so-called 
dangerous activities such as motorcycling, horseback riding, skiing, etc. At 
least you can get more info on the issue here if you don't want to use the 
site to contact your representative.
