[Ducati] Poor running S2R1000

My 06 S2R1000 has been running rough since she was opened up for the 10K
service (Canada). At the 10K service 1 valve was shimmed and some
adjustments made to help out cold starting issues I was having. The bike is
fully stock.

Below are the problems I've been having. It's been to 2 different
dealerships and they keep telling me that there can't find any problems.

   1. Cold starting – chokes and dies a few times before she finally
catches. Once running, the idle sits just over 1,000 and struggles to stay
going. I have to manually keep on the throttle. After a few mins of rough
idle and my help to keep her going, the idle magically jumps up to just
   under 2K and runs smooth

   2. Surging – cruising around at low speeds under 4K she seems to stutter
even thought he throttle position is constant

   3. Engine Warm – once I hit around 70+ on the temp gauge (Canada) the
idle is all over the place. Sometimes jumping up to just over 1,500 then
other times to just over 1,000. When the idle falls to just over 1,000 the
engine sounds like its struggling and makes some weird noises. The best way
I can describe it is it goes from a nice mechanical "tick-tick-tick-tick"
sound to a "clunk-clunk, clunk-clunk" sound and I think I hear some pinging
going on. The odd time she will stall when stopped at a light.

   4. Poor gas mileage – I use to get around 150+ kms before the gas light
comes on. Now, I'm lucking to see 90-100 kms.

All of these issues are intermitted. Somewhere between cold and full hot she
is ok. Once fully warmed up I get the above happening. I never had any
issues before the 10K service. She is scheduled to go in again next week. If
anyone knows what the issue might be I really appreciate your feedback so I
can tell the mechanic what to check.

Thanks,

-jb
