[Ducati] 900 SP tires

My SS ran best on 170/60's. I'd switched at one point to 180/55's on the
stock 5.5" rims and it was okay, but the 170's felt...I dunno...righter.
The thing that REALLY messed me up was accidentally buying a 120/60 for the
front instead of the intended 120/70. I despised the way it handled after
that and it took me a while to figure out I'd spooned on the wrong size
tire.

When I had the 748, I believe it had 180/55's on it and that bike handled
like a dream from the day I bought it until the sad day I sold it. I'd have
to ride a 749 and an 848 to decide if those were better handling bikes than
my 748 -- but it'd be hard to believe.

Okay, so I'm digressing a bit. I guess my point is that I've ridden an SS
with 180's that didn't feel quite right, and a superbike with 180's that
felt perfect. Honestly I think you'd want to try it before you decide, as
it's all about "feel" and what one person thinks feels right might feel all
wrong to someone else. Point of order, though, Don: your '96 SS is an SP,
right? I think the SS/CR had a 5" rear rim, and you don't want to put a 180
on a 5" rim.
