[Ducati] battery question

I finally pulled the bike out of the garage after 5 months of storage.
Needless to day, it wouldn't start. Battery was not only completely
drained, it would not hold charge either. Surprised by the fact that
the bike is less than a year old. Local dealer says the battery
warranty is only good for 6 months. Here is my question. What type of
battery should I replace it with the conventional OEM battery, or gel
battery ?
