I left Northern Virginia Friday as planned but realized there was no way we were going to get through the Mountains of TN, NC, GA without getting seriously wet - been there, done that and in fact the last 2 years going to the Barber AMA event we rode in the rain to get there - guess I'm just getting old. So we ended up spending 2 days riding the Mountains of VA mostly, with a few minor excursions into WV - yes we do have great roads in VA. It is a shame too because George Betzhold had helped me to lay out a great route from Bristol down to Ft. Payne, Al which is where our hotel was going to be Sat/Sun. Now I'm feeling like I got the appetizer and was starting on the main course when I had to stop, I need another ride 2 days is not enough. When I saw the races on Speed yesterday I was envious of the execllent weather they were having down there and today we would be riding back in great weather - bummer. - Gene
