i can't wait for the tech training, when we get bombarded with how bmw have reinvented the ujm.  it'll be a propaganda hurricane.

of course it's the same as all the others.  if there was any advantage in something different, the japanese would be doing it.  it just reinforces the difference between what works on a road bike and what works on a critical weight/dimension/power race bike.

and in the end it's just another expensive i4.  we already sell them (mv), and they don't sell that well.  they can't bmw-ise it (abs, panniers, etc) so it'll alienate the trad buyers, and for everyone else it's "why not just buy a gsxr".  which is kind of funny in the image thing anyway - the gsxr is the most talked about 1000/4, but honda sells more fireblades while doing the worst in most magazine comparisons.

it'll be interesting how it does tho.  that and the aprilia v4 too.  given we're going to be selling all these expensive euro 1000/4 we'd better hope they do ok.
