IIRC, Rossi states in his autobio, that he spoke with Ducati, liked them
a lot, but in the end, they, like Honda, were too committed to
developing the bike through engineering/telemetry, rather than around
the rider's requests/input, so he went with Yamaha who seemd more
responsive to developing the bike with rider input. Of course, money may
have had something to do with it.
