[Ducati] 851 regulator

Hi list.
I asked a few months ago about a replacement regulator for my 1990 851. In my usual tight-arse way I ignored all the good information and went with the give-it-to-an-aquaintaince-and-he-will-find-another approach. Of course 5 months later I have seen neither the regulator nor the acquaintance. 
I was wondering if someone in my part of the world (Dunedin, New Zealand) could point me to a replacement. Even better, I hear more reliable replacements are about and easier to come by but I can't seem to find out what they are.
