If you can find a way to get some heat into the filter, it should help. After the screwdriver method failed, you can't run the engine, so I'd try to heat it up with a heat gun or a hairdryer (careful you don''t start a fire!). Heat it up a good long time to get the threaded portion nice and hot.... Matt
