No such animal as 916R. RSs were race models not typically owned by mere mortals. First R model of the modern era that was sold would be the 996R of 2001., followed by 998R, 999R. All of these had the new testastretta motors, previous models the highly desired models were 916SP, 996SPS etc. all had the older motor. Rich

I've been asked to lend assistance in promoting the sale of a 98 916. It 
was said to be an "R" designation. Being a 2valve owner, I'm not up on 
the model year designations of the SBK line.
The numbers below are all that has been made available, and I have not 
been able to go see the bike as yet.
Do these number help any way identify what type of 916 this might be?
