Mark,
Thanks for the info. That's what I thought, but John's comments had me
wondering.

You can swap from a CR swingarm to a SP swinger pretty easily. Either
wheel
(SP or CR) will work with either swingarm without any mods. You can
easily
fit the CR rear caliper hanger to the SP swingarm. The swingarms do
have
different axle adjusters, and (I think, but I don't recall exactly) that
the
CR axle is longer than the SP axle.

Ron,
As a comment on John's post below, my recollection is that Chris Kelley
of California Cycleworks was a proponent of the steel swingarm versus
the aluminum ones for bikes that do trackdays or are raced, because they
are more durable than the aluminum versions. Heavier, and probably not
with the "cool" factor of the aluminum swingarms, but more durable, and
you can find them cheaply.

And, a question of John. Why do you say you would require a wheel, tire
and axle change? I'm curious because I've considered replacing my steel
swingarm with an aluminum one from time to time, although I've never
done it, and have never heard that these sorts of changeouts are
necessary. Comments?
D.J.
