Anyone that knows me , knows how much I love my 95 900 SP. But I got to tell you sometimes............. I'm on my way home today, temp a cool 107 and damp, and the ole girl starts to feel squirly under me. I'm thinking tire going down but I make it home. Look at the tires, no problem. Then it hits me, the last time it felt like that only worse, was when my swingarm seperated at the point where the cast pivot and extruded arm were welded together by the countershaft sprocket. I didn't bother Ducati because I thought it was a fluke. So I sent it to a guy that was doing frame repairs on Goldwings for American Honda and he fixed it up real sweet. Danm if it aint cracked right through the center of the weld and the pivot is hanging on to the rest of the arm by a skin on the upper side of the arm..S*#+TTTT...! I dont race my bike and ride it on a daily basis to work and back and sometimes on the twisties in the local mountains. Anyone that has ridden with me knows I'm no racer or stunter and dont jump off of curbs or aim for pot holes. I get complimented all the time on how clean she is and I do all the required maintanance. She only has 60,000 plus miles. Is this just a design flaw with this bike or did I get a swing arm that was assembled after the noon vino break. I would be the last person to say a single bad thing about Ducati but I cant help wonder if this is something that should be handled at a corporate level. I haven't contacted Ducati but was wondering if you guys and gals think it would even be worth a try ? If not, does anyone know where I can get a used swingarm ?Peace...Ron"Desmohead"Betts 95 900 SPI've learned that I don't suffer from insanity, I enjoy it!
