Hi All,

My first car was a 69 Pontiac Firebird with a 350- 4 barrel carb, A/T
and 3:08 gears in 1977 ($1650). I thought it was a quick car until I
sold her to my sister and purchased a 69 Dodge Charger RT/SE with a
warmed over 440- 4 barrel, A/T and 3:73 gears in 1980 ($1850). She ran
13.55 at Fremont drag strip with Cheetah slicks which isn't bad for a
car weigning in at 4K plus lbs! I regret selling the Charger and it's
8-12 mpg for a Porsche 914 (28-38MPG) to this day but the price of gas
had just gone up from $0.57/gallon to the unheard of amount of
$1.25/gallon in two years!!!
